Laptop power bank comes in different shapes, models, and sizes. However, the majority of potential buyers often have this question in mind – how long will a laptop power bank last?

Though they are usually portable, most laptops aren’t always powered by the battery alone. If you’re without an electrical outlet, or have run out of batteries, you can still get some power in a pinch with a USB power bank. But how long will it last? And what else do you need to know about these portable battery packs?

How Often Will You Need To Charge Your Laptop?

This all depends on a few factors. If you’re talking about short bursts of use, like checking email and taking care of a few business tasks, then it won’t be much of an issue at all. However, if you’re looking to leave your laptop in standby mode while watching movies or playing games for long stretches at a time, then you’ll probably want to find a power bank with a higher battery capacity than others. 

Of course, that’ll come with tradeoffs in portability, but there are plenty of laptops out there that provide enough juice to last hours without needing a charge. As a general rule, though, anything over 10 hours is great.

What Are The Downsides To A Laptop Power Bank?

If you’re currently considering a power bank for your laptop, it’s important to understand that not all of them will have enough juice to do what you want—and there are some serious downsides if you don’t pay attention. However, if yours doesn’t have a long battery life (or no internal battery at all), then investing in a good external battery pack is worth looking into—especially if you travel often or don’t always have access to wall outlets when working on projects.
